Vision of Jerusalem Capital of Arab Culture 2009
Celebrating Jerusalem as the capital of Arab Cultural 2009 on the Arab and international levels comes to confirm that Jerusalem is an integral part of the occupied territories in 1967. In addition, to reaffirm that East Jerusalem is the capital of the independent Palestinian State and its Arab cultural identity and in support of the steadfastness of its people against the Israeli occupation and the promotion of commitment to a national and unified Arab identity.

رؤية القدس عاصمة للثقافة العربية لعام 2009
الاحتفال بالقدس عاصمة الثقافة العربية لعام 2009 على المستويات العربية والدولية تأتي لتؤكد أن القدس جزء لا يتجزأ من الأراضي المحتلة في عام 1967. وبالإضافة إلى ذلك ، إعادة التأكيد على أن القدس الشرقية هي عاصمة الدولة الفلسطينية المستقلة والهوية الثقافية العربية ودعم صمود شعبه ضد الاحتلال الإسرائيلي ، وتعزيز التزام وطني وعربي موحد الهوية.

Vision & Objectives
We aspire to celebrate al-Quds as the Capital of Arab Culture for 2009, on both the Arab and international levels and we emphasize the fact that al-Quds (East Jerusalem) is an integral part of the Palestinian territories occupied in 1967. We also aim at consolidating the political dimension of al-Quds as the capital of the independent State of Palestine and its status within religious and human consciousness and to support Palestinian presence and steadfastness within it, in order to confront the Israeli occupation’s measures and consolidate the feeling of Arab national allegiance towards a unified Arab culture.

Strategic Objectives

Our main objective is to reinstate the cultural value of the city of al-Quds and bring its religious, historic and cultural dimensions to the forefront, thus consolidating its Arab cultural identity and protecting its historic features and sites through:-

1. Consolidating the steadfastness of Jerusalemites culturally, educationally, socially, economically and on the level of the media.
2. Effectuating cultural activity within al-Quds and its outskirts and extensions both locally and abroad.
3. Preparing and rehabilitating the appropriate infra-structures in order to celebrate al-Quds as an Arab Cultural Capital.
4. Widening and deepening the circle of Arab and international solidarity in order to protect the Arab identity of al-Quds.

الرؤية والأهداف
نطمح للاحتفال مدينة القدس باعتبارها عاصمة للثقافة العربية لعام 2009 ، على كل المستويات العربية والدولية ، ونؤكد على أن القدس (القدس الشرقية) هي جزء لا يتجزأ من الأراضي الفلسطينية المحتلة عام 1967. علينا أيضا أن تستهدف تعزيز البعد السياسي لمدينة القدس الشريف باعتبارها عاصمة دولة فلسطين المستقلة ومكانتها الدينية والإنسانية داخل وعيه ، ودعم الوجود الفلسطيني وصموده في غضون ذلك ، من أجل مواجهة الاحتلال الإسرائيلي وتعزيز التدابير الشعور القومي العربي ولائه عربية والثقافة.

الأهداف الاستراتيجية

هدفنا الرئيسي هو إعادة القيمة الثقافية للمدينة القدس وتقديم الدينية والأبعاد التاريخية والثقافية إلى الصدارة ، وبالتالي ترسيخ الهوية الثقافية العربية وحماية المعالم والمواقع التاريخية من خلال ما يلي : --

1. تعزيز صمود المقدسيين ثقافيا وتربويا واجتماعيا واقتصاديا وعلى مستوى وسائل الإعلام.
2. تفعيل النشاط الثقافي داخل مدينة القدس وضواحيها والتوسعات فى الداخل والخارج.
3. إعداد وإصلاح الهياكل الأساسية المناسبة لاحتفال مدينة القدس باعتبارها عاصمة الثقافة العربية.
4. توسيع وتعميق دائرة التضامن العربي والدولي من أجل حماية الهوية العربية لمدينة القدس.
